Qualifications and Experience
Meekai has dual sub-specialist accreditation in Obstetrics and Fetal-Maternal medicine. She is London trained, undertook her postgraduate Medical Doctorate (MD) under the supervision of Professor Kypros Nicolaides at King’s College Hospital and her subspecialty training at Guy’s and St Thomas’s Hospital. She was appointed a consultant in Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics at King’s College Hospital, London in 2008, where she continues to work as a senior consultant in Fetal Medicine. Meekai has more than 25 years of experience in obstetrics and diagnostic pregnancy ultrasound scanning, prenatal diagnosis and counselling, and has a special interest in premature birth, having published extensively and contributed widely to national guidelines for Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, National Institute of Clinical Excellence and British Association Perinatal Medicine. More recently, having recognised the importance of developments in Genetics in relation to pregnancy, she has completed a Master’s degree in Genomic Medicine at University of Exeter, a world-leading centre in genomic research.
